Planning and Listed Building Consent received for regeneration of Leeds’ oldest street

Approval for the restoration and regeneration of the lower Kirkgate historical frontage units has now been granted. The scheme includes for the preservation and refurbishment of the shop units at ground floor with many of the units now enjoying a duel aspect option; taking advantage of the proposed public realm to the centre of the site. The majority of the upper floors are being restored to form residential accommodation in a mix of studio and one and two bed apartments, and take full benefit of the historical quirks and period features that these buildings contain. No.97 includes a new staircore addition to give access to workspace accommodation to the upper floors of this building.

We are also developing plans for the remainder of the Kirkgate site including major new build schemes to the sites centre, and Kirkgate frontage in order to complete the total transformation of the area.
