Planning gain: 21 Queen Street receives planning approval

Approval was granted today for the redevelopment of 21 Queen Street in Leeds (Previously known as Prince William House). The scheme proposals include two new floors of accommodation ‘floated over’ the existing brick arch building. This juxtaposed setting of old and new brought about a ‘Marmite reaction’ amongst Councillors at Plans Panel; with the majority coming down in favour of loving the proposal, with one quoted as saying “[the scheme is in keeping with] … the spirit of the age” and added “It has a sense of dynamism and is something Leeds needs to be doing.”

This success heralds the first planning approval for the practice, and we look forward to taking this scheme forward to site.
